Five years :)

Nixlove and I celebrated our 5th anniversary yesterday But since we had work, we just had dinner at Conti’s at Serendra. Yum! Then after eating, we walked under the starry sky, haha

Five years went by so fast but every time I remember how it all started, where we began, and how we turned from friends to lovers and in effect becoming the best of friends, I just could not help but get giddy all over again. Although the euphoria I felt when I said ‘yes’ stayed, I also learned to embrace the fact that love isn’t just about ‘being in-love.’ It takes effort, compromise, and sometimes,  independence.

Nixlove has been there for me throughout–when I changed moods, and even when I changed jobs. He was there at the lowest and highest points of my life. And I will be there for him as well, without any doubts and without any conditions–for the rest our lives

Now, I’m counting the months. The best is yet to come. And here’s to googolplex more years with my one true love, Nicolo Masakayan. Or as I love to call him, Nixlove

God’s message for me today :)

There’s a Facebook application called God’s message and I subscribed to it recently. It was just amazing how “God’s message” fits my feelings, worries, and well they seem to answer my wishes or questions.

Here’s one for today:

“You’ve carried the guilt, the shame for long enough. You’ve kept your wounds open for long enough. The time has to come to let go, to heal. Keep the lessons and let the pain heal. Yes, you know what we are talking about it.”

She will always be one of my heroes. And I will forever love her. May God grant her good health. We still need her.

To “celebrate” my last day at INQUIRER.net, I decided to list down my favorite stories, those that gave me my most memorable experience as a journalist–so far. There are a thousand more stories I have written but these were striking, and did I say memorable already?

I can’t seem to find words for this blog entry, on how bittersweet it is to leave my first news ‘home.’ I am nevertheless excited for my new family. Yahoo!
