I’m an 80’s kiddo :)
Just saw pics from way way back. My hairstyle was soooo funny!

Oh well, when you’re a kid, you don’t have the right to object what they want to do to your hair hahaha!

MANILA, Philippines — Makati City officially became a “no Charter change zone” with the passage on Tuesday of a resolution by the city council, which also presented Mayor Jejomar Binay a petition against Constitutional amendment signed by 15,143 persons.
Resolution 2008-246 expressed “strong opposition to any move or initiative at the House of Representatives to revise or amend the Philippine Constitution (Cha-Cha) with the end in view to perpetuate in power President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.”
Binay, who is also president of the United Opposition, presented the resolution at a press conference, saying: “Dapat sundin natin ang saligang batas na dapat magkaroon ng halalan sa 2010 [We should follow the Constitution’s mandate to hold elections in 2010].”

I’m starting to get really positive about 2009.
After all, good things are bound to happen.
There will always be something to be happy about, right? So I promise not to dwell on negative things.
There was a shocking work-related news last week but I realized its basically beyond my control. What’s left of me to do is perform well.
Everything will eventually get better.
I’m also happy I had THAT talk with the most important man in my life last Saturday.
We knew it’s eventually coming but it really makes me giddy that plans are becoming more clear.
Ok, I won’t dwell on this. *crossing fingers*

This year is my second time to cover the Black Nazarene procession.
Last year, I joined the devotees and I felt what they felt. Believe me, that press ID wasn’t a lot of help. Because the moment miraculous Nazareno arrived, the devotees have gone crazy; I was crushed, sandwiched, or whatever you would call it. All I could remember was I was gasping for air, desperately, as I swam my way out of the sea of devotees. I thought I would die. But I have no regrets.
This year, I had a more ‘peaceful’ post. I got good shots and nice soundbytes–I even got blessings from Cardinal Rosales himself! Most of all, I was able to witness the most heartwarming scenes one could ever imagine.
Covering the Black Nazarene always give me goosebumps. The way devotees sway their hankies on air; the loud chants of ‘Viva Nazareno’ of hoodlum-turned-angels; and the sincere prayers of those asking for forgiveness, blessings, or healing.
I have my ardent wishes to the Black Nazarene as well but just like VP Noli De Castro, I’ll keep mine a secret. :p Hay, what a way to start the year–with spiritual cleansing!
Anyway, my favorite story for the year so far is here. Do click on the link to see the story.
Devotees recount ‘miracles’ of Nazarene
Have a blessed year everyone!
Delay seen in arrival at Quiapo
MANILA, Philippines – (UPDATE 5) The procession of the Black Nazarene has been diverted to its old route after devotees forced the image’s carriage to go into one of the side streets leading to Quiapo Church, a police official said.
Chief Superintendent Roberto Rosales said this would further delay the procession to Quiapo because the streets would be much smaller compared to the planned route.
Rosales said the change happened after the Black Nazarene’s carriage got to McArthur Bridge and the “old” devotees pulled the rope around the image towards Quinta Market.
Rosales said rather than risk a stampede, they decided to let the people have their way.

MANILA, Philippines — The holy mass for the Black Nazarene at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila was interrupted briefly, as thousands of devotees eager to touch the miraculous image untimely rushed to the statue.
Archbishop Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales, who celebrated the mass, stopped the ceremony, which the devotees didn’t seem to mind.

Nixlove got his musical skills shelved for years and I’m glad he’s doing again what he loves to do: play the guitar.
Back in LB, when we had lots of time to spare, he would sing me songs (like The Beatles’ When I’m 64) or the songs he composed
But he had been very shy (or suplado?) and has not shared his guitar talents..until he joined the band Jeez, a group composed of Dept Humanities teachers and two students
Fast forward to yesterday, Nixlove and his bandmates were interviewed for an INQUIRER.net music feature. And lest I be accused of mixing business with pleasure, I’d like to clarify it was not my idea, ok. haha.
I was actually surprised when I learned they would be playing at the office’s studio.=)
But for the first time, I fully appreciated their band and their songs. I now understand Nixlove
I’m so proud of him and I love seeing him happy.
(During the interview)
(Behind the scenes; while recording and while Jeez is playing “Pero”)
(Thealove now an official groupie…and Nixlove’s manager.haha)
Watch out for their videos on the site!
Anyway, after the recording what should a ‘groupie’ and a rockstar do? Have a cute dinner date, of course!
