MANILA, Philippines — – (UPDATE) With new impeachment complaints set to be filed against President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo over the weekend, Malacañang urged administration critics to help resolve the global financial crunch instead of politicking.

In the House, Speaker Prospero Nograles said the new complaints come as no surprise since administration critics file cases every year. The law sets a one-year moratorium in between impeachment complaints.

Lawyer Harry Roque said the impeachment complaints would be filed on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Deputy presidential spokesman Anthony Golez dismissed the impending impeachment complaints as baseless, like the ones filed earlier, and accused Arroyo’s detractors of filing the charges out of personal interests.
