MANILA, Philippines — A day after First Gentleman Jose Miguel “Mike” Arroyo dropped by St. Luke’s Medical Center in Quezon City for his therapy, it was now Vice President Noli De Castro’s turn to go to the hospital to have his “dry cough” checked.

The First Gentleman and De Castro’s visits were timed days after former agriculture undersecretary Jocelyn “Joc-Joc” Bolante was confined also at St. Luke’s following his arrival from the United States.

Bolante, who arrived Tuesday night, was admitted into SLMC the same night after complaining of chest pains. Doctors declared days later that he was in stable condition but would need to undergo more tests.

MANILA, Philippines — Several youth groups held a protest at St. Luke’s Medical Center (SLMC) in Quezon City Friday, as they called on former agriculture undersecretary Jocelyn “Joc-Joc” Bolante to tell the truth in the P728-million fertilizer funds, which he allegedly diverted to the campaign kitty of President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in the 2004 polls.

Vencer Crisostomo, League of Filipino Students chairman, also urged the SLMC to “get rid of a monster” confined there.

“To Joc-Joc, tell the truth, if not, you will be haunted on November 1 and 2 by the ghosts of protests by the people…don’t hide the secrets inside St. Luke’s,” said Crisostomo in Filipino.

MANILA, Philippines — Officials of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines are divided over the statement of CBCP President Archbishop Angel Lagdameo and four others calling for “radical reforms” in government.

Bishop Nereo Odchimar of the Diocese of Tandag, CBCP vice president, said he had not been consulted on Lagdameo’s statements.

“You know the pronouncement of Archbishop Lagdameo is his personal position, he does not speak in behalf of CBCP,” Odchimar said in an interview with Catholic Church-run Radio Veritas Friday.

MANILA, Philippines — (UPDATE 2) Agriculture undersecretary Jocelyn “Joc-Joc” Bolante is in stable condition but needs to undergo further medical tests because of his fluctuating blood pressure and significant weight loss, his doctor said.

In a press conference Thursday, Dr. Romeo Saavedra, Bolante’s doctor for the past 15 years also said there had been a “significant narrowing” of Bolante’s vessels.

“We want to make sure that in the next few days, when he’s going to engage in stressful activities, it is not detrimental to his health,” said Saavedra.

I found the perfect birthday gift for Nixlove! :) I was that lucky today :)

Anyway, I have yet to sleep after a tiring but fun day with Nixlove and his family :) Tomorrow I’m expecting to be extremely busy but I’m hoping it won’t be that exhausting. Jocjoc, please grant a press conference tomorrow! haha :)

Hmm, I also found the perfect birthday card for Nixlove :) Part of it read: “Even though you’re the one having the birthday, I feel like I’m the one who got the gift.” It could not have been better said :D

Missing lb part 2

I don’t why I am too emotional when it comes to UPLB these days. Maybe because it is my second home and I miss it terribly. Ibang-iba kasi sa elbi, you can be who you really are. Walang pakielamanan ang mga tao. And the sceneries are soooooo breath taking :) Total freedom pa.

Anyway, enough of drama. :0

Got this from whatsuplosbanos, a website dedicated for UPLB. :) Still gives me shivers. :) Naiyak talaga ako nung kinanta ‘to nung graduation. The feeling was soooo surreal! What else? UP’s hymn, UP Naming Mahal

U.P. naming mahal
Pamantasang hirang
Ang tinig namin
Sana’y inyong dinggin

Malayong lupain
Amin mang marating
Di rin magbabago ang damdamin
Di rin magbabago ang damdamin

Luntian at pula
Sagisag magpakailanman
Ating ipagdiwang bulwagan ng dangal

Humayo’t itanghal, giting at tapang
Mabuhay ang pag-asa ng bayan
Mabuhay ang pag-asa ng bayan
